The procedure, in our "
Research and Development
" Department, located in France, is to perfect an
FGA Motorsport
module for each specific model of vehicle, according to the type of repowering and electronic management involved,
instead of a “universal” type module, as is the case among most of our direct competitors.
This implies, not only a module equipped with the original connections (for 95% of the reference models in our catalogue) but a high degree of quality and facility of assembly of all
FGA Motorsport
modules in the vehicles concerned.
This in-house department, consisting of two engineers, goes into action immediately after the announcement of any new vehicle model or new repowering system, working to develop a module for it, to be made available as soon as it hits the market (even for very rare models). Our objective is not to be the biggest producer on the market, but
the best, combining performance with quality.
Our staff members (a total of 10 persons) are all very anxious to ensure that our products are top quality. Our many years of experience in the sector, and, more particularly, in servicing of all major models of vehicle (with the creation of 2,400 models), have allowed us to acquire a
meticulously detailed knowledge
of the vehicles we work on, while respecting
the philosophy of the original trademark.
We wish to stress that we truly design and produce our products; at our three main establishments, we perform all development, adjustments, and production.
Our Research and Development Department is also concerned with “EC and E” certificates, which are drawn up by a laboratory certified by the French authorities before the European Commission. All tests are performed with a view to the homologation of vehicles and their equipment, in conformity with the European directives.
The “EC – E – TÜV” markings affixed to the modules attest that our modules are in compliance with all applicable directives.
The declaration of conformity within the European Community is obligatory for their marketing.
A product without these various certifications is prohibited for use on pubic roads, and cannot be sold.
Manufacturers are prohibited from equipping their vehicles with additional gear boxes which are not homologated and “
EC – E – TÜV
”-certified, and will lose their licences.
The manufacturing process of our products depends in large part on the purchase of components (digital electronic platens in conformity with all ROHS standards, connectors, wiring, gear box envelops, etc.) from a variety of suppliers and sub-contractors of official builders of automobile trademarks also benefiting from European certification. All assembly is performed by ISO-9002-certified sub-contractors, the production of our gear boxes is controlled entirely by our two engineers).
The rest of our components (terminals and plastic envelopes) is injected in moulds owned by us.
Finally, our Research and Development Department is equipped with a latest-generation power bench, which also permits the adaptation of new products, conditioned by the evolution of the automotive sector as well as the evolution of current and future products.
